My Top 3 Weight Loss Secrets That have NO COOKING involved & actually Work !!! Everyone wants to Lose weight but the cooking aspect of a diet can be difficult and daunting to many.
If you have to make different meals for your family and separate diet meals for yourself it make dieting and losing weight or sticking to a diet very difficult. My top 3 diet secrets are not recipes that you need to cook rather simple 3 things that you can incorporate into your regular food or diet plan to get better results and reduce the time in the kitchen.
SECRET NO. 1 : OVERNIGHT CHIA PUDDING :
Chia is easily available online (amazon & big basket) or in any big grocery store. You can buy black Chia or White Chia or Mixed Chia as well they are all fine. Chia is high in protein and low in carbs and high in fibre ….just what we need to lose weight ! It makes a great breakfast when made as a chia pudding or soaked in water or milk and added to porridge like oats or even added to water to drink. To make Overnight Chia is very simple.
1. Simply take 1 or max 2 Tablespoons of chia seeds
2. Add to half or 1 cup of milk (can be regualr milk or soy, almond, coconut milk etc).
3. Adding 1 tsp of honey is optional. Mix or shake well and keep in the fridge overnight.
4. In the morning, give it a good mix. Add in fruits of your choice (banana, papaya, pomegranate, kiwi, mango etc ), top with nuts if you like them and eat it for breakfast. Delicious & very healthy.
SECRET NO. 2 : APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
Apple cider vinegar (with the mother) also known as ACV is easily available online (amazon & big basket) or in any big grocery store. It costs between Rs.200 to Rs.500 for 500 ml depending on the brand. Please ensure it says ‘with the mother’ before you buy & ensure you have a straw to drink it before you start as the acidic nature of the vinegar can spoil the Enamel of your teeth if a straw is not used.
Its great for the stomach, boots immunity, controls blood pressure, cholesterol & Blood Pressure too. ACV must be taken only on an empty stomach first thing in the morning and never after meals or before bed. To make this drink
1. Dilute 1 table spoon of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) with the mother in 1 cup (250 ml ) of regular room temperature water.
2. Mix well.
3. Drink with a straw and never as a shot or undiluted.
SECRET NO.3 : SALTY GREEK YOGURT:
This Greek Yogurt is always in my fridge ready for me to eat so I never have to reach for junk. Its great on its own as a replacement for regular curd as its higher in protein. It can also be used a dip for raw vegetables (I hate raw vegetables and because of this dip I am able to eat them ) and it also makes a fabulous creamy salad dressing. My salty Greek Yogurt can also replace that fatty Mayonnaise in sandwiches and wraps. My kids love it too and its just one of those things that makes everything taste better……like nutella or cream. Everything tastes better with some Nutella or Cream on it….and everything tastes Great with some salty Greek Yogurt on it too !
To make this Salty Greek Yogurt
1. Hang 2 cups of homemade curd in a muslin cloth or hanky and secure it with a rubberband. Let the water drain our for 2 to 3 hours.
2. To the Thick Hung Curd now add 2 finely chopped cloves of Garlic
3. 1 tsp ketchup (ya! I know its bad for you )
4. salt as per taste
5. 1 tsp of mixed herbs or herbs of your choice like Oregano, Parsley or Pasta seasoning.
6. 2 Tbsp of Olive Oil
7. Mix well until creamy and smooth.
8. Add to salads or eat plain & enjoy !
