Completely Seated Workout For Seniors (15 Minutes) | More Life Health

Join me (Mike – Physiotherapist) in this completely seated workout, working flexibility, strength, and fitness. Enjoy!

(To get straight into the exercise go to 0:56).

COMPLETELY SEATED WORKOUT FOR SENIORS:
Warmup – Marching on the spot – 30 seconds
Spine & shoulder Stretch x 4
Piriformis/Buttocks Stretch – 30 seconds each leg
Posture Stretch – 30 seconds
Knee Extension – 6 x 5 second holds
Seated Bent Over Row – 5 x 5 second holds
Shoulder Abductions to 90 degrees – 5 x 5 seconds
Shoulder Abductions Full Range x 5
Hand Open/Closes x 5
Finger/Thumb Touches x 5 rounds
Core Sit Backs x 5
Punching Forward – 15 seconds
Punching Up – 10 seconds
Punching Down – 5 seconds
Marching On The Spot – 30 seconds
Cool Down – Seated Shoulder Rolls x 5

Make sure you do the warm-up before beginning.

  • I start out with this exercise then I go to the Lower back then shoulders then neck then arm and finish with the leg exercises. All in all 1hour exercising each and every morning. I have been doing this now for nearly 4 months. Been great and I have regained a significant increase in movements especially in my shoulder. When doing both the arm and the shoulder exercises I hold 2 lb weights. Many thanks Mike for having these exercises on line…Thanks
